چکیده
In this paper, the nonlinear oscillations induced by friction in a ball-on-socket system are investigated. The time response was obtained solving differential equations of friction-noise model finite element ball with multiple modes. different patterns motion were analyzed via bifurcation diagram, Poincare map, and recurrence plot. Lyapunov exponents discontinuous distributed contact calculated using Muller method. From analysis, it is shown that joint can retain periodic, quasi-periodic, or chaotic respect to tilted contact.

Nonlinear vibration signature analysis of a rotor supported ball bearings
The dynamic behaviour of a high speed balanced rotor supported on deep groove ball bearings (SKF-6205) has been studied by numerically simulated results. Since, internal radial clearance (IRC) is inevitably present in all class and types of bearing, in this paper it (IRC-C3) is considered as main source of nonlinearity with speed as control parameter. The complex mathematical model simulates no...
متن کاملAtomic-scale friction control by vibration using friction force microscope
Manipulation of friction at the nanoscale has been traditionally approached by chemical means (lubrication). Recent friction force microscopy (FFM) experiments demonstrated that it can be done mechanically by applying vibration to accessible elements of the system. This paper provides analytic understanding on why vibration can reduce friction based on a 1D model imitating the FFM tip moving on...
متن کاملEffects of Vibration on a Coulomb Friction System
Deformable systems that rely on dry friction for their proper functioning are widely found in many engineering applications such as bolted components, railway ballast. The design of these systems is usually considered from static point of view and employing Coulomb model of friction. This paper studies the effects of dynamic loading on the behavior of a two dimensional system by finite element ...
متن کاملRandom Vibration of a Nonlinear Autoparametric System
A noisy autoparametric system exhibiting 1:2 resonance is studied as a random perturbation of a fourdimensional Hamiltonian system. The problem involves three time scales. Nonstandard stochastic averaging technique is rigorously developed, application of which results in a lower-dimensional description of the system. Probability density of the limiting process is obtained using FEM methods. The...
متن کاملVibration Analysis of a Nonlinear System with a Nonlinear Absorber under the Primary and Super-harmonic Resonances (TECHNICAL NOTE)
Abstract In vibratory systems, linear and nonlinear vibration absorbers can be used to suppress the primary and super-harmonic resonance responses. In this paper, the behavior of a nonlinear system with a nonlinear absorber, under the primary and super-harmonic resonances is investigated. The stiffnesses of the main system and the absorber are cubically nonlinear and the dampers are linear. M...
